Stories, Roads, and Dreams: Why You Can’t Miss PAVÈ

We know you love well-told stories, things done with passion, people who break the mold, and places waiting to be discovered.
That’s why — and for a thousand other reasons you’ll soon understand — we’re so fond of PAVÈ, the storytelling bike festival organized by the “bad kids” of the Velostazione crew, which for the fourth year will take over Venice and of course, we invite you to check out the program.

The format is entirely theirs: two days at the M9 Museum where stories take center stage. Among the many (twenty-three!) and very diverse guests, we can’t wait to meet Californian Jacquie Phelan, a legendary figure in mountain biking and a pioneer in breaking down gender barriers in the sport.
Then there’s the environmental cinema of Virpi Suutari, whose Once Upon a Time in a Forest presents a modern fairytale where young Finnish activists challenge governments and corporations, denouncing the climate and ecological emergency.
And we can’t forget Submerged Portraits, the stunning photographic installation by Gideon Mendel: forty portraits exploring the global climate crisis.

On the third day, it’s time to ride: from Parco San Giuliano, the celebrated Classic Gravel Rides of 90 and 140 km (which sold out ages ago) will set off, looping around the Venetian lagoon.
And then there’s INFINITA, a brand-new journey designed for the aristocracy of the curious: 330 km along a route that stretches beyond the provincial borders, heading north towards the Treviso hills, crossing west to east at the foot of the Prealps, and looping back south through hidden places and forgotten memories. Mostly asphalt, with some gravel and short stretches of trail. A gravel or mountain bike will do the trick. Tickets are available here.

All rides will include a magical, silent interlude aboard a dedicated ferry-boat crossing.

For those who prefer to relax, Sunday at the Village will offer plenty of opportunities for emotion and connection, with the Bike Polo Contest, the Goldsprint Corner, the Open Market, and lots of Street Food.
