BAMtastic!

We took some time for ourselves and came back renewed, like those who have baptized their thoughts again in the sea and blessed their tired hearts on the mountaintops.

First of all, this newsletter, BAMtastic, will now be more regular. It’ll be a chance for us to tell you stories, share news from the world of bicycle travel, and remind ourselves, every now and then, that you and we share something precious.
Like the desire to go far.

Up to a certain point, life comes toward us like the wind; we close our eyes and it all arrives, strong. All we have to do is open our arms.
Then, at some point — sooner for some, later for others — that same wind blows everything away and carries it off behind us.

These days mark the birthday of Joe Sacco. Yes, the one who makes war reports, the comics that don’t make you laugh. Almost 20 years ago, he won the American Book Award for Palestine, his graphic novel portraying life in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Almost 20 years… so perhaps this tragedy didn’t begin just yesterday.
Joe Sacco’s field experiences have become 12 books, from Sarajevo to Iraq, up to his most recent one, released this year: The War on Gaza.
